Bionic hearts are an organ replacement added in Beta 19. They have 125% efficiency, improving [[blood pumping]], which in turn slightly improves [[moving|movement speed]] by about 5% of the value it would otherwise be (having [[bionic leg]]s or being affected by certain [[drugs]] will result in the heart giving a greater increase in movement) and the [[rest rate multiplier]] by about 8%.

They can be purchased from traders or crafted for {{icon|plasteel|15}} and {{icon|advcomponent|3}}.

By installing a bionic heart, the pawn's natural heart is harvested without a penalty, as the bionic heart is superior. This organic heart can then be sold or stored for later use.

Like [[bionic stomach]]s, bionic hearts are of lesser importance than bionic legs, arms or eyes due to having lower bonuses. However, the faster rest effectiveness, though small, can make a great difference in the productivity of a colonist, allowing them to do more work than would otherwise be possible. Likewise, the movement speed boost can make a difference when fleeing animals or mechanoids. They also stop and prevent heart attacks, so it's really useful for drug-users.
