Maximum Comfortable Temperature is a stat: Above this temperature, characters will be unhappy.
Significantly above this temperature, they will develop heatstroke and eventually die. Its minimum allowed value is -2,000 °C (-3,568 °F) (effectively limited to 21 °C (69.8 °F)). Its maximum allowed value is 2,000 °C (3,632 °F). Its default value is 40 °C (104 °F).
Note that the default value is only used when it is not defined for species and that the listed effective bounds are for humans. Also note that higher maximum comfortable temperatures are better.
Base value[edit]
The default base value for humans is 26 °C (78.8 °F). The collapsed table below shows the minimum and maximum temperatures of all pawns Any unique temperature mechanics will be described on their individual pages.

Factors[edit]
There are two ways to increase a pawns maximum comfortable temperature, being Apparel and Genes. Note that insulation from apparel does not affect whether a pawn "Slept in the cold/heat" mood penalty, but the effects of genes do.
Apparel increases maximum comfortable temperature by its Insulation - Heat which is modified by its quality, and if stuffable by the insulation factor of the material from which it is made. Apparel will never decrease a pawns maximum comfortable temperature, so it is not necessary to remove clothing to make a pawn more comfortable. See Insulation for further details.
There are 3 genes that affect a pawns maximum comfortable temperature:
- Heat weakness: −5 °C (9 °F)
- Heat tolerant: +10 °C (18 °F)
- Heat super-tolerant: +20 °C (36 °F)
Analysis[edit]
The absolute highest a human's maximum comfortable heat can be, comes from these factors:
- Default value: 26 °C (78.8 °F)
- Legendary hyperweave tribalwear: +25.7 °C (46.3 °F)
- Legendary phoenix armor: +180 °C (324 °F)
- Legendary hyperweave cowboy hat/shadecone: +23.4 °C (42.1 °F)
- Legendary hyperweave face mask: +0.936 °C (1.7 °F)
- Heat super-tolerant gene: +20 °C (36 °F)
Total: 276 °C (528.8 °F)
Pawns and items will spontaneous ignite above 235 °C (455 °F), however, limiting the actual maximum temperature that a base can operate under below this value.
