Power conduit
{{Template:TNTN|power| |name = Power conduit |image = PowerConduit_MenuIcon.png|Power conduit |info = Distributes power. |type = Power|Power |placeable = y |size = 1|1 |hp = 80 |speed = |power = |buy = 1 |sell = 0 }} A power conduit distributes power between generators and appliances up to 5 squares away. If your power grid contains batteries with stored charge, it is possible for a power conduit to short circuit, automatically destroying the conduit and discharging the entire stored power of the grid in an explosion proportional to the amount of charge; this is a random event which cannot be prevented, though the damage can be mitigated by building walls over your power conduits. An actual conduit wall is automatically destroyed if the conduit short circuits, so it does not provide any protection against the explosion; it is more time consuming but safer to build the wall and conduit on the same tile separately so that a short circuit does not automatically destroy the wall.
Measuring
Because the cost of the power conduit is 1 metal per square, it can be used to measure any distance that the cable can be built on. To use it as a measuring tape simply remember that the cost is equal to the distance, (metal cost = distance)
