Packaged survival meals are a high-tech long-lasting food option. They are the colonists' primary source of food at the beginning of each game (except for a tribal start) before they set up a new source of food. They can also be cooked after research or found in crashed cargo pods. Packaged survival meals restore 0.9 saturation and provide the same mood buff as fine meals. They do not ever expire, meaning they do not require cold storage.

They are made with 0.5 nutrition worth of animal ingredients and 0.5 nutrition worth of plant ingredients at fueled stoves and electric stoves. This is rather wasteful, so don't use it to prepare meals for your colony. For the same price you can make a lavish meal which is more satisfying and provides a better mood boost (+10 vs +5), or 36 pemmican which doesn't last indefinitely but provide over 77% more nutrition in total. Even when preparing for long journeys pemmican is often enough.

Requires 10 veggies, 10 meat (or equivalent animal product), 1 neutroamine, 2 cloth.
