Analysis
Harbinger trees provide a low-tech, no power method of getting rid of bodies without the use of fire or an Electric Crematorium.
This is vital for tribal or low-tech settlements who want to reduce the number of potential Shamblers on the map during a Deathpall or similar events, as there is no limit to the number of times a corpse can be turned into a shambler. However, it is only effective as a preventive measure, as shamblers can break free from the roots when raised.
