What do people think about this section? It basically reads as "build lots of traps" to me, which may be seen more as a niche gameplay tactic, especially so early in the game. I just added a picture from a game showing walls instead. Perhaps it's more playstyle on my end as well, but I much prefer to set up a basic defense with wood walls around the base. In the very early game it could be useful to have one side open, protected by sandbags, so raiders and animals will attack from that side, instead of trying to burn or hack through your vulnerable walls. Later you can build wood walls around the entire base, with a section outside protected by sandbags, so you have a solid-ish defensive position. And yet later you build stone walls around the base's perimeter, perhaps gradually expanding it, or have a second layer of stone walls. I would think this is a more traditional approach than lots of traps?
I haven't tried to rewrite the section as I'm new here and not sure how touchy it would be. Nevertheless, the bit about the traps in a checkerbased patterns is kind of moot now, since in later versions of game the traps must be one tile apart in both directions. So we can't build an impenetrable trap walls, which I understand was possible in early betas. Pangaea (talk) 02:54, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
