This was a lot more complicated than I thought, but here's the basic breakdown:
- Step 1) Add your new property to Template:Define (like you did)
- Step 2) Create a new property page for your property, in this case it's [[Property:Mass]]. View source of that property or other ones to see how they're set up.
- Step 3) Create a new page for your property and put in a Template:Stat on it. See Mass for an example.
- Step 4) Figure out where your stat will be displayed. Template:Infobox/Thing's documentation tells you where specific stats are stored. In this case, all Things have mass so I added it to Template:Tag/Basics and Template:Material/Tags. Figuring out where the template you need to edit can be found by viewing the page source and following the templates upward. This step kinda sucks.
- Step 5) Pray to your favorite higher power.
- Step 6) Finally add the property to the page you were trying to edit, which was Steel in this case.
I did the heavy lifting for you, so you can add mass tags to any page that uses Template:Infobox/Thing or the old Template:Infobox main (which we should phase out to be honest).
