Band node
[[File:|250x250px|link = Band node|Band node]]Property "Image" (as page type) with input value "File:" contains invalid characters or is incomplete and therefore can cause unexpected results during a query or annotation process.
A mechanoid-band signal amplifier. Band nodes must be tuned to a specific mechanitor. This will add 1 bandwidth to that mechanitor's total bandwidth, allowing them to control more mechanoids.
Once a band node is constructed, it can be quickly tuned to a mechanitor. However, retuning a band node to a different mechanitor takes significantly longer.

A band nodes is a building added by the Biotech DLC that increases the bandwidth of the mechanitor tuned to it.
Acquisition
Band nodes can be constructed once the Basic mechtech research project has been completed. Each requires 200 Steel, 4 Componentss and 8,000 ticks (2.22 mins) of work.
Summary
- Consumes 300 W of power when tuned, 100 W of power when untuned.
- Increases a mechanitor's bandwidth by +1 per band node if powered.
- A band node must be tuned, which takes 300 ticks (5 secs). This happens autonomously; mechanitor does not need to be present for tuning to happen.
- Band nodes can be retuned to another mechanitor, but the process takes 3 days.
Analysis
- All other ways of increasing bandwidth are limited; they require the mechanitor to wear an item.
- Allows the use of more mechanoids. Combat mechs can be very useful for defense.
- Heavy on both power and resources.
- Risk of wild mechs during long bouts of power loss, such as solar flares, EMI events or condition causers, or disruption to infrastructure.
- Does not block wind turbines.
