A Multi-analyzer is used to improve research speed by 10% and unlock new research projects. As with the tool cabinet, it must be placed close enough to a parent research bench to link to it when the center of the research bench is in line of sight, then that research bench researches faster.

A research bench can only be connected to 1 multi-analyzer at a time, however 1 multi-analyzer can connect to multiple research benches simultaneously.

There are several factors that affect the research speed of the bench itself:

• Whether you are in a room or not. Outdoors research benches are only 75% as effective as indoors.
• The cleanliness of the room. A very dirty room is only 75% as effective as clean, whereas sterile tile gives an approximate 9% bonus.
• The type of research bench. A simple research bench is only 60% as effective as Hi-Tech.
• Whether you have a connected Multi-Analyzer or not. An active multi-analyzer gives a 10% speed bonus.
