The material table's market value is wrong. The material isn't considered at all except as it modifies other stats. The values under Market Value are correct.
Take a poor wooden statue. The game lists it as having 79 value. This page suggests it market value should be 160 * 1.2 * 0.75 = 144. This is wrong. The formula on Market Value suggests it should have (1.2*50+300*0.7*60*0.0036)*0.75*1 = 79.02 value, which is dead on.
I'm not familiar with the history of Rimworld, but it seems to me perhaps the material value stat is a holdover from an older version of the game?
