I come back after some years and I noticed that I made a typo in my email address in the preferences.
I could modify it, but I cannot verify my email (I tried twice and looked in my spam folder to no avail).
I am on yahoo.com, can it be an issue?

You should be able to remove an email address entirely from an existing account and add it again.
Have you successfully changed the email address in the preferences?
I tried to remove the email entirely and add it again, with three different emails (yahoo.com, gmx.fr and gmail.com) to no avail. I waited more than one hour each time and looked in the spam folders.
