Just an FYI, sometimes when you upload a new version of an image it keeps the old one cached, so it doesn't look any different until it updates the cache. It infuriating but it will eventually switch to the new version. Does this sound like the issue you were having? If not, can you describe the issue, and maybe I'll be able to help?

When i uploaded the image initially on my end it looked like way darker than it actually was so i just ended up increasing the saturation and brightness by 5, then it ends up looking extremely bright on the preview despite that not being the file i uploaded. seems to have resolved it though when i woke up this morning so unsure what was up with that
