To put it bluntly, many comparison sections are massive. See Centipede gunner#Comparisons - as an ally, Spear#Analysis (remember that this could be replicated for both longswords and maces), and Recon armor#Analysis. In all 3 cases there is substantial qualitive analysis, outside of the quantitive comparison to specific items. I specifically request for this to be a 2= header instead of 3= header, because it is difficult to tell 3= and 4= apart.

Consistency shouldn't be an issue - comparison sections are only put if the comparisons are big enough, which IMO, is intuitive enough. The reader can scroll down just a little more from the analysis section to get to comparison, and we could always put "For more, see Comparison section below".

While you could note that "players won't understand the full comparison without all the detail", I think it's important for some pages to say, like, "flak vest + duster preferred over recon for most cases". Players who cant be bothered to read long paragraphs, can get some quick info from the page. Basically, I think it would be both useful and useful to a variety of pages in order to have a comparison section. Hordes (talk) 14:53, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

Template formatting w. lists[edit]

I think there is a lot of merit of having a line in-between

Ex:

 • Blah blah
 • Blah blah

vs

 • Blah Blah
 • Blah blah

Especially if the bullet points consist of large paragraphs rather than short bullets (see Steel#Acquisition analysis for example), I think it should be acceptable. Hordes (talk) 16:32, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

I see your point and I actually was convinced there was absolutely no visual difference. But keep in mind that the line in-between means it's no longer one list, but two. --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 19:31, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Need for a Comparison subsection[edit]
