Analysis
TV in general provides another form of recreation to your colony. It is useful for bed-ridden pawns in particular, as the only other option rqeuires that another colonist talk to them.
In general, it is not worth it to research televisions. Megascreen televisions provide stronger recreation and are often carried by exotic goods traders and faction bases. Both flatscreen and tube televisions can also be bought.
Flatscreen televisions can be used for resource compression, compressing 59.7 kg of 105 steel and 12 components into a mere 8 kilos. This allows you to carry 7 times the weight you normally would on a caravan, but means that you will lose 50% of the 140 steel and 16 components.
