Template talk:Building Stats Table

Potential merge

When this is updated to include Quality, there is the potential to merge other templates/pseudotemplates into it. Namely:

• Template:Rest Effectiveness Quality Table
• Template:Comfort Quality Table
• The Surgery Success Chance Factor table on bed pages that was never turned into a template.
• Template:Recreation Power Quality Table

My opinions are:

• Template:Rest Effectiveness Quality Table - this template displays numbers to better contextualize what the percentages actually mean. We could abandon that and link to the big tables on Rest but those are relatively inscrutable. I personally would not merge this. Could still be added as a column tho?
• Template:Comfort Quality Table - could be merged for all non-sleeping furniture pages. For sleeping furniture pages, the benefit of clearly showing the interaction between quality and the dresser/end table bonus is useful imo.
• The Surgery Success Chance Factor table - could be merged entirely.
• Template:Recreation Power Quality Table - could be potentially be merged entirely, except for Billiards table which would necessitate a way to disable this column. There is a question over whether it could be expanded like RE has been to show "time until" and better inform readers about it.

I started working in this and I actually think we should keep all those templates/tables. It just becomes way to complicated to show alle the dresser, sleep accelerated and what not combinations and even for simple things like comfort of stools, a quick overview in the comfort section of that page is useful. I'm 100% okay with that. Its just something that should be considered with an update is all. Great work with the template btw. Did some minor fixes on Sculptures (It broke when I added quality to the individual sculpture pages) and on Barricade/Sandbags (they had a combined table like sculptures that had to be manually updated), but otherwise the change over seems to have been smooth. We also might need to fill out everything else that should be in Property:Has Quality - theres almost certainly some still missing it. - Harakoni (Wiki Moderator) (talk) 00:20, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
