Void structure

A warped structure made of jagged oily metallic-like pieces. This is an element of the void itself which has manifested into our reality. It emanates a disturbing psychic throbbing and kills the plant life around it by some unnatural influence. The structure is linked to the void monolith, though the exact nature of the connection is beyond human understanding.

Void structure is a structure that forms after awakening the monolith, and must be activated in order to activate the void node and reach the Anomaly ending.

Occurance[edit]

After activating void monolith level 3, regular darkness will cover the map and two void structures will spawn somewhere on the map, surrounded by void metal floors and a few Void metal masses, along with varying numbers[Detail needed] of metalhorrors that stick around.

After the two void structures are activated, three more will spawn after a delay.

Summary[edit]

Initially unactivated, a colonist can be selected to activate the structure, taking 36 seconds to activate, changing the center of the structure from a dull gray to a glowing red, and prompting a horde of entities to spawn around the map edge to assault your colony after a short delay.

Once the two monoliths are activated, unnatural darkness will cover the map and will be harmful like the noctolith event. A countdown will begin before the next wave of three void structures arrive. After the three void structures have been activated, the void monolith may be activated to access the void node and end the event.

They will spawn with a foliage kill radius that gradually maxes out at 25 tiles.
