Electric inhibitor

Electric inhibitor

A device that emits a specially tuned electromagnetic field which numbs the neural activity of captured entities. As long as it is powered, it improves the containment strength of any holding platform that it is pointed at. The electric field does not affect humans or normal animals.

Electric inhibitors are buildings added by Anomaly DLC that improve the containment of holding platform.

Acquisition[edit]

Electric inhibitors can be constructed once the entity containment research project has been completed. Note that this research requires dark study to unlock. Each requires Component 2 Components, Steel 25 Steel, 100 ticks (1.67 secs) of work modified by the construction speed of the builder, and a construction skill of 4.

Summary[edit]

Each electric inhibitors increases containment of a holding platform by +10 up to a maximum of +60[Verify] with 6 inhibitors.

Analysis[edit]

Requiring a 1 tile buffer zone to be placed and being 2 tiles long usually will mean a containment area that has to be either redesigned or designed with the placement of the inhibitors in mind. However despite the large space requirement they are a relatively cheap and easy way of containing higher level entities.

For basic entities, they usually aren't needed as a basic wooden and lit room with a holding platform are able to meet the containment difficulty (Exceptions being a Gorehulk and Toughspike). However Inhibitors will be necessary for Bioferrite harvesting, with 2 being enough to offset it and provide a net gain of +5 Strength.
