An orange tree that produces dryads. These dryads are born from a dryad queen who lives inside the tree (and isn’t seen in gameplay). Each dryad stays attached to its mother tree for life.

The gauranlen tree is a tree added by the Ideology DLC. It produces dryads. Attaining the Guranlen pod can be done in several ways. It can naturally spawn at random times, like any other random fortunate event. It can be "farmed" by having another Guranlen Tree produce gaumaker dryads, which requires three gaumaker dryads to merge into the Guranlen Seed. This process can take around half a year or so for three gaumaker dryads to fully mature. The last is as an ideological even reward, which upon an unforgettable outcome will trigger the guranlen pod event.

Planting

Seeds can be planted on any soil normal trees can be, but if planted within 7 tiles of artificial structures the tree will experience greater connection strength decay over time.

Connection

For the tree to produce any dryads a colonist must connect with the tree through a connection ceremony. The ceremony requires at minimum 1 connector. Additional spectators will increase the quality of the ceremony. The ceremony quality will determine the amount of Gauranlen moss that appears around the tree. The moss will beautify the area, but has no affect on the quality of the connection or amount of dryads produced.

You may select the dryad caste after the ceremony is completed.

You can see the connection strength your colonist has with the tree by selecting the tree. It ranges from 0% to 100%, and the colonist must prune the tree to increase their connection with it. The stronger the connection the more dryads that tree can produce. The connection made after the ceremony is permanent, even if the connection strength drops to 0%.
