Template documentation

Inserts a standardised paragraph about optimising animal productivity and related lookup tables for particular strategies. Takes into account milk and unfert. egg production.

Syntax

1. Name = Name of animal. Defaults to current pagename.
2. S = What tier of section headings to use. Defaults to 0 (the base section tier)

Dependencies

• Assumption: An M:F ratio optimized for adult slaughter will be the same as for baby slaughter (very slightly wrong for milk-producers: 11:49 (22.45%) vs 2:9 (22.22%) for cows - see Template:Ideal Sex Ratio General/doc#Cow)
• Assumption: A typical player will use adult animal populations in the 15-20 range. Higher populations for the same sex ratio will always be slightly more efficient, as the interval between matings decreases, reducing the expected time between pregnancies by up to 0.5*Property:Mate Mtb Hours.
• Assumption: It's never sensible to eat fertilized eggs. We do explicitly show the baby slaughter nutrition and egg nutrition, so it should be easily spottable if this assumption is broken.

Ranching

As herbivores, chickens can eat live plants, vegetables, and meals. Even as adults, chickens are too small to benefit from simple meals, as the adults can only be expected to have room to store up to 25% of the 0.9 nutrition of simple meals, the rest being wasted to overeating. Chickens yield 12 chicken meat when slaughtered as chicks, or 42 chicken meat if allowed to grow for the 12 days needed to become adults.. Hens will lay 1 unfertilized egg every day if no roosters are present, each egg worth 0.25 nutrition. For overall nutrition production, a male:female sex ratio of 1:2 is ideal. At that ratio, if the chicks are set to be slaughtered, on average the chickens will consume 0.22 nutrition of feed, and produce 0.4 nutrition of chicken meat per day. When adult chickens are set to be slaughtered, on average the chickens will consume 1.16 nutrition of feed, and produce 1.38 nutrition of chicken meat for each reproductive adult per day. At the 1:2 sex ratio, the chickens will also produce 0 nutrition of unfertilized eggs per day per adult.

Warg

As strict carnivores, wargs can eat raw meat and corpses but not meals or kibble Wargs yield 39 warg meat when slaughtered as puppies, or 196 warg meat if allowed to grow for the 30 days needed to become adults.. For reproduction, a male:female sex ratio of 1:7 is ideal. At that ratio, if the puppies are set to be slaughtered, on average the wargs will consume 0.4 nutrition of feed, and produce 0.28 nutrition of warg meat per day. When adult wargs are set to be slaughtered, on average the wargs will consume 1.46 nutrition of feed, and produce 1.42 nutrition of warg meat for each reproductive adult per day.

Cow

As herbivores, cows can eat live plants, vegetables, and meals. Even as calves, cows are large enough to be fed simple meals without any wasted nutrition from overeating. Cows yield 67 beef when slaughtered as calves, or 336 beef if allowed to grow for the 20 days needed to become adults.. Female cows can also be milked for 14 milk every day. For overall nutrition production, a male:female sex ratio of 3:14 (1:4.7) is ideal. At that ratio, if the calves are set to be slaughtered, on average the cows will consume 0.86 nutrition of feed, and produce 0.4 nutrition of beef per day. When adult cows are set to be slaughtered, on average the cows will consume 1.96 nutrition of feed, and produce 2 nutrition of beef for each reproductive adult per day. At the 3:14 sex ratio, the cows will also produce 0.58 nutrition of milk per day per adult.

As herbivores, megasloths can eat live plants, vegetables, and meals. Even as babies, megasloths are large enough to be fed simple meals without any wasted nutrition from overeating. Megasloths yield 112 megasloth meat when slaughtered as babies, or 560 megasloth meat if allowed to grow for the 40 days needed to become adults.. For reproduction, a male:female sex ratio of 1:9 is ideal. At that ratio, if the babies are set to be slaughtered, on average the megasloths will consume 1.6 nutrition of feed, and produce 0.37 nutrition of megasloth meat per day. When adult megasloths are set to be slaughtered, on average the megasloths will consume 4.02 nutrition of feed, and produce 1.84 nutrition of megasloth meat for each reproductive adult per day.

As omnivores, huskies can eat corpses, meals, raw meat, and vegetables but not rice. As ovivores, they can also eat animal products. Even as adults, huskies are too small to fully benefit from simple meals, as the adults can only be expected to have room to store up to 72% of the 0.9 nutrition of simple meals, the rest being wasted to overeating. Huskies yield 28 husky meat when slaughtered as babies, or 120 husky meat if allowed to grow for the 30 days needed to become adults.. For reproduction, a male:female sex ratio of 1:7 is ideal.
