Tinctoria is a plant that is used to dye the clothes and hair of a pawn to a set color, preferably the favorite color of a pawn.

Use the resulting dye to paint walls, floors, and other buildings, or to dye hair or apparel at a styling station.Content added by the Ideology DLC

Acquisition[edit]

Tinctoria may be grown in Grow Zones and has no Minimum growing skill to sow. It does not grow wild on the map. Tinctoria dye may occasionally be offered for purchase by traders.

Analysis[edit]

Since tinctoria needs only a 31% light level to actively grow (as the other "flower" crops do), Tinctoria will grow indoors with simple standing light or even by torch light. However, due to its short lifespan and the lowered growth rate from 50% light, tinctoria will rot by the time it reaches 50% growth if planted in 100% fertile soil, and 70% growth in 140% fertile rich soil. Planting it in hydroponics will allow it to reach full growth under 50% light, however.

Growing[edit]

  • Ground Type Gravel Soil Rich Soil Hydroponics
    Fertility (%) 70 100 140 280
    Real Grow Time (days)[1] 5.27 3.69 2.64 1.32
    Base Yield/day[2] 0.19 0.27 0.38 0.76
    1. Actual days to grow, taking into account rest time.
    2. Per plant, assuming Crop Yield Multiplier of 1.0.
Note that Difficulty settings change the Crop Yield Multiplier.
