When used in food recipes (e.g. a fine meal), raw fungus is classified as a vegetable.

In RimWorld core it cannot be farmed, making it at best a random and situational source of vegetables.

With the Ideology DLC, fungus can be farmed by harvesting nutrifungus. Colonists with the "Tunneler" meme get a +6 mood bonus when they consume raw or cooked fungus. All non-Tunneler colonists despise the taste of fungus and receive a -6 mood penalty after eating raw fungus and a -3 mood penalty for fungus within a cooked meal.
