A morbid slab (broad) a floor covering added by the Ideology DLC. It is a larger counterpart to the morbid slab (medium).
Acquisition[edit]
Morbid slabs (broad) can be constructed once the Stonecutting research project has been completed. Each requires
150 Stuff (Stony) and 2,000 ticks (33.33 secs) of work modified by the construction speed of the builder and the work to build factor and offset of the material. Note that they can only be constructed by pawns that follow ideoligions that include the Morbid style.
Summary[edit]
The morbid slab significantly increases the dominance of the Morbid style to those who see it and is also moderately beautiful. As it is not an edifice, other buildings can be built on top of it. There are several possible varieties of texture available - the texture is determined randomly upon completion.
It has has no effect on move speed and cleanliness. For these, the stats of the floor or terrain beneath the rug is taken into account.
Analysis[edit]
| This section is a stub. You can help RimWorld Wiki by expanding it. Reason: Compare wealth management. |
Constructing slabs turns stuff and labor into beauty and style dominance, which puts them in competition with sculptures. Slab quality will depend on construction skill, while sculpture creation uses artistic. The chief advantage of slabs is the fact that they fit between the floor and other buildings, allowing space to serve "double duty". They also require much less labor. In exchange slabs offer fewer material options and greatly inferior beauty per material: a broad slab uses 150 stuff for just 30 beauty, against a large sculpture yielding 100 beauty for 100 stuff. Therefore sculptures should be preferred until an additional sculpture simply cannot fit in the room, at which point one may resort to slabs if further impressiveness is desired.
