Bioferrite plate
Heavy plate flooring made from smoothed bioferrite. While ugly and slightly flammable, it's quick to clean and increases the strength of nearby holding platforms.

Bioferrite plate is a buildable floor type added by the Anomaly DLC. Its primary purpose is for strengthening containment of nearby holding spots and holding platforms.
Acquisition[edit]
Bioferrite plates can be crafted once the Bioferrite shaping research project has been completed. Note that this research requires dark study to unlock. Each requires 4 Bioferrite, 840 ticks (14 secs) of work modified by the general labor speed of the crafter, and a construction skill of 4.
Summary[edit]
Bioferrite plates improves the containment of a room that is directly proportional to the percentage of the room covered by the plates, up to a maximum of +15 containment strength with the entire room covered. For example, a 30-tile room with 20 tiles floored with bioferrite plate would receive +10 containment strength.
Bioferrite plates boost cleanliness by +0.2, meaning an entire room of bioferrite plate will have 0.2 Cleanliness. In addition, they only take 60% of the time to clean, but have −2 beauty per tile.
Bioferrite plate is flammable and it leaves behind burned bioferrite plate when it burns.
Analysis[edit]
Bioferrite plates are designed specifically for strengthining containment cells. It is not an immediate priority for every containment cell to have bioferrite plates, as bioferrite is in limited supply early on, and level 1 entities are generally easy to contain. It is advisable to upgrade to such as soon as is convenient, however, as a fully plated room provides a bonus that perfectly offsets the decrease in strength from using a Bioferrite harvester in the cell.
Bioferrite plates are also clean, sharing the same cleanliness bonus and clean time as steel tile. Compared to steel tile:
- Bioferrite can be easier to farm if the colony is focused on Anomaly content rather than standard progession.
- Bioferrite plate is worth ×34.4% as much wealth as steel tile. Concrete is still cheaper, however.
- Bioferrite plate is flammable and has a beauty penalty.
Overall, bioferrite plate can be used for laboratories, hospitals, and kitchens if faster cleaning is desired, at the cost of flammability and the beauty penalty. Even if all pawns are inhumanized and don't care about beauty, the beauty will impact room impressiveness. Therefore, steel tile or sterile tile will be better choices once the cost can be afforded.
