Megaspiders can inhabit any terrain where an infestation has spawned. Not actually a spider, the megaspider is a genetically-engineered giant insectoid the size of a bear. Designed for heavy work and combat, its thick chitinous armor makes it hard to kill, while its long deadly ripper-blades make it deadly.
Taming
Megaspiders are spawned during an infestation. They cannot be tamed by conventional means, and the option is only available when spawned in using dev tools. Even then, they need to be tamed by highly-skilled colonists, and even getting close enough to one to tame it without taking severe damage presents significant challenge.
