Grav field extender
An ultratech device used to increase the size of a gravship. It extends the area in which substructure can be built, and increases the amount of substructure that a gravship can support. Must be built near a grav engine.
A gravship can support up to six grav field extenders.

A grav field extender increases the tile limit and building radius of a gravship.
Acquisition[edit]
Grav field extenders can be constructed once the Basic Gravtech research project has been completed. Each requires 1 Gravcore, 35 Gravlite panels, 2 Components, 80 Steel, 1,500 ticks (25 secs) of work modified by the construction speed of the builder, and a construction skill of 4.
Summary[edit]
The gravship field extender increases the maximum amount of tiles that can be connected to a gravship by 250 tiles each. In addition, any tile within 16 tiles of a field extender will be connected to the gravship, thus increasing the distance that connected buildings can be placed. However, extenders must be placed in the range of the grav engine, so daisy-chaining extenders is not possible.
A gravship can have up to 6 extenders at once.

Analysis[edit]
For gravship-focused playthroughs, some amount of gravship field extenders are practically a must in order to give the gravship more space, and should be the first priority for gravcores. In a colony where the gravship is only used for travel, they are less necessary but still helpful for added storage. In either case, once enough space is available, or if 6 extenders have already been built, gravcore power cells can be made instead to provide more power.
For the largest building radius, extenders should be placed far from the grav engine.
