Ostriches are huge, flightless birds that are easily riled, found in arid to temperate biomes. Ostriches can be farmed for their eggs, but the agonizing 19 day laying interval makes them much poorer for this than any other type of bird in the game, despite the largeness of the resulting egg. However, an ostrich is much better at defending itself than a chicken is, and can even be trained as an attack animal.
Taming
Ostriches can be tamed wild, randomly join your colony in an event, or bought pre-tamed from a trading ship.
Production
Ostriches lays ostrich eggs when fertilized, at an average rate of 1 every 3.33 days. It is considered a juvenile at age 6 days old and Adult at ~13 days.
Attacks
Ostriches have three attacks: scratch (feet), bite (beak), and, less commonly used, blunt (head). In addition to the base damage, the scratch and bite attacks apply a stun for 14 ticks (0.23 secs).
