Melee Combat
The husky is a cold weather canine found on the boreal forest and tundra biomes. They are sometimes selected as a starter pet. Huskies, like the labrador retriever, can periodically haul items and rescue downed pawns, making them useful pets to have.
Analysis
Huskies are notable for not having a minimum skill level to handle or tame. This, their hauling ability, and lack of tameness decay make them strong candidates for hauler animals. Compared to the labrador retriver, a husky is more combat effective (2.82 vs 2.55), eats more (0.8 vs 0.64), carries slightly more (65 vs 56), and has slightly fewer puppies per litter (1.721 vs 1.937).
They also produce more meat (120 vs 105) and leather (36 vs 33) when slaughtered. You monster.
Dogs are the only omnivorous animals that require neither a pen nor taming upkeep. Having no wildness, they also do not generate filth indoors. Feeding them with meals or kibble can thus require zero labor from colonists: simply zone them to go into the appropriate stockpiles and eat directly.
