Ostriches are huge, flightless birds that are easily riled, found in arid shrublands and deserts. Male adult ostriches are dark, while young and female ostriches are lighter brown.^[Verify] Ostriches can be farmed for their eggs, but it takes a long time. An ostrich is much better at defending itself than a chicken, but it is a pen animal - it won't be targeted by raiders.

Taming

Ostriches can be tamed wild, randomly join your colony in an event, or bought pre-tamed from a trading ship.

Production

Ostriches lays ostrich eggs when fertilized, at an average rate of 1 every 3.33 days. It is considered a juvenile at age 6 days old and Adult at ~13 days.

Attacks

Ostriches have three attacks: scratch (feet), bite (beak), and, less commonly used, blunt (head). In addition to the base damage, the scratch and bite attacks apply a stun for 14 ticks (0.23 secs).
