Mechband dish
A mech-band signaling device more powerful than the mechlink antenna. When activated, it puts out an ultra-powerful mech signal pulse, which will attract a mechanoid commander to attack with its escorts. If you defeat it, you can collect special technology from its corpse. The signal pulse burns out the dish, so this building can only be used once.

A mechband dish is a building added by the Biotech DLC that allows a mechanitor to summon the apocriton.
Acquisition[edit]
Mechband dishes can be constructed once the high mechtech research project has been completed. Note that this research requires a powerfocus chip to unlock. Each requires 75 Steel, 25 Plasteel, 2 Advanced components and 8,000 ticks (2.22 mins) of work modified by the construction speed of the builder.
Summary[edit]
This section is a stub. You can help RimWorld Wiki by expanding it. Reason: How long until it arrives. Activation method etc.. |
A mechband dish can be activated by a mechanitor to summon the hostile apocriton, which will drop a nano structuring chip when defeated. Once activated, it will self destruct after 120 ticks (2 secs) leaving 5 steel slag chunks.
It cannot be used in the time between another mechanoid boss being summoned and that boss arriving. In addition, there is a 2 day cooldown between summoning any mech boss.
Analysis[edit]
This section is a stub. You can help RimWorld Wiki by expanding it. Reason: When to build first? Is it worth continuing to build them once they start appearing in raids? etc.. |
