Bedroll

Bedroll

A simple bed that sits on the floor, usually made of cloth or leather, often lined with fur. It is lightweight and can be rolled up for easy transport, but it is not quite as comfortable as a typical bed.

The bedroll is a furniture item which pawns can sleep in. They can be made from any textile, and are generated without quality levels. Bedrolls provide better comfort and rest effectiveness than a sleeping spot, but are inferior to all but the worst beds.

Generally, one should avoid using bedrolls in their colonies. Unless you're playing as a Lost Tribe, you will have access to proper beds immediately. However, bedrolls do serve a purpose for caravans - assuming you have at least one bedroll for each pawn, they will use them while resting, significantly reducing time spent recovering from travel and thus shortening the trip as a whole. Their low weight makes for easy transport, and once you arrive at your destination you'll have a functional place to rest without needing to build a thing.
