The thump cannon is a mechanoid-only weapon equipped on termites with a low base damage rating but with exceptional damage multipliers against buildings.
This weapon is unobtainable in normal play, though it can be spawned in by the Debug actions menu. Like all unobtainable weapons, after being equipped and dropped, it disappears. It is provided here for comparisons sake.
Summary
Thump cannons do Thump damage which has a 15x damage multiplier to impassable buildings, 7.5x multiplier to passable buildings, a 4x multiplier against plants. Furthermore, walls and natural rock walls have a further 4x multiplier when taking Thump damage resulting in a 60x multiplier. Thus, for base damage before quality modifiers, the thump cannon deals:
- Pawns: 9
- Impassable buildings: 135
- Passable buildings: 67.5
- Plants: 36
- Walls & natural rock walls: 540
For the purposes of armor calculation, thump cannons are considered Sharp damage.
Analysis
Due to Thump damage's multipliers, thump cannon are only moderately damaging to living targets but do massive damage to buildings and walls. A single shot can destroy 3-tile wide stretch of granite wall, and only two are required to breach plasteel. The thump cannon can down unarmored pawns in five hits on average, and most often kill from brain damage.

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Note: This is the actual base average derived from the melee verb system updated in 1.1.2610, it may sometimes disagree with the listed value in the in-game infobox.
It may also change depending on the stats and the melee verbs available to the wielder if the weapon is wielded by some other than a baseline human. - ↑ Chance for attack to be selected, assuming the weapon is wielded by a baseline human. It may change depending on the melee verbs available to the wielder
Note that while the other qualities are defined by the game code and can be spawned in with dev mode, only Poor, Normal, and Good quality thump cannon will ever spawn in-game naturally.
