A chest implant for preventing enemy use of captured equipment. Upon the user's death, it releases powerful chemicals that dissolve gear in contact with the user's body. It doesn't damage others.

The death acidifier implant destroys all equipped weapons and apparel on the installed pawn on death, preventing them from being captured. It is installed on all empire soldiers to prevent weapon or armor capture.
Acquisition[edit]
It can be purchased from traders and installed normally, although it is more or less useless for your colonists.

Upon death, a death acidifier destroys held weapons and worn apparel on a pawn. All other items carried in the dead pawn's inventory drop normally, including weapons / apparel not currently equipped. It then applies chemical burns on the corpse, relative to where it destroyed items. It does not deal damage to anything else around the user on activation.
It does not prevent downed pawns from dropping their weapons or items, nor does it stop you from stripping apparel from a downed pawn. It only destroys weapons and armor at the time of death.
Installation[edit]
Installing the part requires 2,500 ticks (41.67 secs) of work, 2x medicine of Herbal quality or better, and a Medical skill of 5.
It cannot be removed once installed.
If the operation fails, the part will be destroyed.
Analysis[edit]
The death acidifier merely serves as a way to prevent players from easily acquiring weapons and armor that would make the early game too easy. Installing the death acidifier on your pawns has no use, except for destroying equipment that could have been smelted for resources.
Downing a pawn does not cause the implant to activate. As long as the pawn is not downed by pain shock, the forced death on down chance will not apply. Psychic shock lances, heatstroke, and toxic buildup can all be used to recover the empire's gear freely.
Trivia[edit]
Animals with death acidifiers are immortal and cannot be killed by any means, including slaughtering, due to a bug that interrupts the death function. However without dev mode animals can never spawn with death acidifiers.
