The Coagulator gives a pawn that's been implanted with it a reduction of bleeding rate by 50%. Note that it doesn't stop bleeding entirely, and colonists still need to be treated if they don't want to bleed out eventually.
Acquisition
Coagulators can be crafted at a Fabrication bench once the Healing factors research project has been completed. The required techprint can be obtained either by trade or completing quests for the Empire. They require 15 Plasteel, 4 Advanced components, 26,000 ticks (7.22 mins) of work, and a Crafting skill of 8.

The Coagulator is useful in reducing the time left for bleeding out pawns. Best installed in easily injured pawns such as melee fighters.
The actual time until bleed out is improved by more than the 50% bleed rate implies, because the body also regenerates 33.3% of its blood every day.
- For example, if an injury or injuries would have bled a pawn to death in 8 hours (a loss rate of −333% per day, with +33.3% replenished) without the coagulator, then with the coagulator the pawn would last just over 18 hours (a loss rate of −166% per day, still with +33.3% replenished). This effect is more pronounced with slower blood loss rates.
