This page gives an overview what you should make out of your leathers in order to sell it most profitable.
All calculations try to maximize the value per material. If ever two options are tied, the minimum work per silver is preferred. The cost and work of acquiring the material is ignored.
Terminology[edit]
Silver per Leather is the Market Value multiplied with the Sell Price Multiplier divided by the amount of leather.
Market Value Cap: The market value of an item with a quality above normal is capped. The cap becomes relevant for all items that have (at normal quality) a higher market value than:
See Quality for more information.
Keep in mind that instead of maximizing profit, it might be more preferable to use the Inspired Creativity and/or the Production Specialist Role on something more useful, like crafting a good weapon.
General[edit]
As you can see in the Table A the three most profitable options to sell Leathers are:
- Corset or Formal vest (requires Crafting skill and the Royalty DLC)
- Duster (requires Crafting skill)
- Armchair (requires Construction skill)
Whether all of these options are profitable is dependant on the skill level and whether the pawn has Inspired Creativity and/or the Production Specialist Role .
As these are the same items as for Fabrics, see the section General on User:Ickputzdirwech/Fabric. The graphs there use Cloth as an example. For Leathers the scale of the y-axis changes but apart from rounding errors the ratios stay the same.
Thrumbofur[edit]
Since Thrumbofur is a very expensive material, thrumbofur Dusters of legendary Quality and Armchairs of masterwork and legendary Quality are affected by the market value cap (see Table B and Table C). The relative profitability therefore changes.
For some crafting skill levels the Hood is more profitable than the Duster and the Bedroll more profitable that the Armchair (Double bedrolls are also affected by the market value cap and can therefore be ignored). The differences become only noteworthy if the pawn has Inspired Creativity and/or the Production Specialist Role .
With the Royalty DLC the Corset and Formal vest remain the best options that requires crafting skill.
Inspired Creativity |
---|
With Inspired Creativity a Hood is more profitable than a Duster with a crafting skill of 4 or more. A Bedroll is more profitable than an Armchair with a construction skill of 5 or more. |
Production Specialist Role |
---|
With the Production Specialist Role a Hood is more profitable than a Duster with a crafting skill of 10 or more. A Bedroll is more profitable than an Armchair with a construction skill of 11 or more. |
Production Specialist Role and Inspired Creativity |
---|
With the Production Specialist Role and Inspired Creativity a Hood is more profitable than a Duster with a crafting skill of 1 or more. A Bedroll is more profitable than an Armchair with a construction skill of 1 or more. |
Chinchilla fur[edit]
Chinchilla fur is not quite as expensive as Thrumbofur but chinchilla fur Armchairs of legendary Quality are still very slightly affected by the market value cap. However, Armchairs remain the most profitable option that requires construction skill, as the next best option Double bedroll lacks very far behind.
Tables[edit]
Table A: Thrumbofur[edit]
The following table shows what items can be crafted out of leather. It uses thrumbofur as an example.
