An analysis computer inspects the bloodstream, classifies pathogens, and rapidly prompts the body's natural immune system to respond to them faster than it could alone. This speeds immunity gain significantly.

The Immunoenhancer is an implant added by the Royalty DLC that enhances Immunity Gain Speed, the rate at which immunity to disease develops.

Acquisition

Immunoenhancers can be crafted at a Fabrication bench once the Molecular analysis research project has been completed. The required techprint can be obtained either by trade or completing quests for the Empire. They require Plasteel 15 Plasteel, Advanced component 4 Advanced components, 26,000 ticks (7.22 mins) of work, and a Crafting skill of 8.

Summary

Each immunoenhancer gives +8% Immunity Gain Speed. One can be installed in each kidney, and therefore stack its bonus to +16%. Installing the implant does not harvest the original organ (unlike most organ bionics).

An immunoenhancer can only be installed into a natural kidney - if the implantee is missing a kidney, or has detoxifier kidneys Content added by the Biotech DLC, immunoenhancers cannot be installed.

As an implant they have no direct effect on the organ they are installed into, part efficiency will not be affected, and damage to the organ will not be removed. For this reason it is best to install immunoenhancers into fully healthy kidneys, as they are less likely to be destroyed in combat than a scarred one.

Analysis

By the time a colony has access to an immunoenhancer, diseases are usually not a lethal threat. A pawn with an immunoenhancer is very likely to survive a disease and can have lower quality medicine used on them or have less skilled doctors practice on them. An immunoenhancer can also be used on a pawn who goes on caravan trips often. If a pawn gets a disease while on a caravan, they will not have access to a sterile environment and various other boosts to immunity gain speed. They can also be considered for the most productive pawns and sickly pawns to minimize the time they spend bedridden. It is more useful in rainforests and swamps, due to the increased disease frequency.

Compared to detoxifier kidneys

Unlike immunoenhancers, detoxifier kidneys Content added by the Biotech DLC improve the part efficiency of the kidney, providing +5% Blood Filtration each. This equates to a +2.5% Immunity Gain Speed per kidney, less than 1/3rd of the immunoenhancer, however detoxifier kidneys have other benefits.

  • Detoxifier kidneys are cheaper to craft, both in terms of their direct resource cost; Plasteel 15 Plasteel, Advanced component 2 Advanced components, and because immunoenhancers require the Techprint for Molecular Analysis.
  • The kidney's improved blood filtration also slightly improves consciousness, but this is capped at 100%, meaning this benefit only occurs if filtration is reduced, for example by liver/ kidney damage, or food poisoning.
  • Detoxifier kidneys can be installed even if the pawn has lost a kidney, or when installed over a healthy kidney the kidney is harvested without mood penalty, returning Silver 900 silver in market value. (The resources to craft a detoxifier kidney cost Silver 535 silver.)
  • Lastly detoxifier kidneys, as their name suggests, protect against both toxic buildup and chemical damage from drugs. Each kidney provides +50% Toxic Resistance, meaning a pair provide complete immunity to toxic buildup.

Immunoenchancers do however pair better with detoxifier lungs Content added by the Biotech DLC, due to no wasted overlap on tox resistance. For a full breakdown see the Detoxifier Kidney Analysis.

Overall, immunoenhancers are still superior to detox kidneys, but only if resources are not a concern, and if they are paired with detoxifier lungs Content added by the Biotech DLC.
