Prosthetic heart
A heart prosthesis. It contains an electric motor that pumps blood smoothly around the body. Users often report feeling tired, but it's better than the alternative.

The Prosthetic heart is a heart replacement with 80% efficiency. It affects Blood pumping and several dependent stats - due to its below-normal part efficiency it negatively affects healthy pawns but may benefit injured or unhealthy ones.
Acquisition
Prosthetic hearts can be crafted at a Machining table once the Prosthetics research project has been completed. They require 25 Steel, 4 Components, 15,000 ticks (4.17 mins) of work, and a Crafting skill of 5.
Summary
Prosthetic hearts have an 80% part efficiency, while heart body part has a 100% importance to the Blood Pumping capacity. Thus, installing it results in a 20% loss to Blood Pumping. Installing a prosthetic heart will also instantly cure any artery blockages and prevent heart attacks from any source, including drugs. However the decrease in blood pumping has a number of carry-on effects including a Move Speed reduction of 7.5%, equivalent to a prosthetic leg, and a 4% reduction in Consciousness, Manipulation, Talking, and Eating. Additionally, they require 6% more rest due to the 94% Rest Rate Multiplier. The reduction in consciousness and manipulation mean than that almost all tasks will be completed slightly slower. Finally, this also results in a 20.3% reduction in an otherwise healthy pawn's market value.

Prosthetic hearts can be important tools to prevent heart attack deaths in the early game, should an otherwise valuable colonist be prone to them. However their stat penalties are significant. Ideally, natural hearts or bionic hearts should be used instead. Bionic hearts especially, as they give a small but significant buff to Moving and Rest Rate Multiplier.
On the plus side, prosthetic hearts provide a fairly cheap method of harvesting one of all harvestable body parts. Just remember to harvest the Liver last and that you cannot reclaim the heart from a lifeless corpse. Indeed, using the prosthetic heart to retrieve a natural heart from a prisoner without causing a mood debuff for the prisoners death may be a more viable way to deal with a colonist needing a new heart. However, this procedure will cause a -20 penalty to goodwill with the faction, for an "unnecessary surgery", if diplomacy is a concern to your colony.
It can also be used to make the use of wake-up safer in the long term by preventing the heart attacks the drug can cause. That said, the cost of the wake-up and the lost productivity from the prosthetic should be weighed against the simply installing a circadian half-cycler for a one time cost a and a flat -15% Consciousness penalty, as should the cost of other methods of sleep need reduction. Ideally, a bionic heart, which affords the same protection but also improves stats, should be used in this role if it can be obtained.
While it does provide a buff to pawns with the Body modder trait, its negative effects on healthy pawns means it should be passed over for other, less detrimental prostheses.
