Detoxifier lung
An advanced artificial lung that uses microfilters to reduce the intake of environmental toxins, allowing the user to survive longer in polluted environments. Additionally, it negates the irritation of acidic smoke and prevents lung rot in this lung.

A detoxifier Lung is an artificial body part that increases Breating while protecting against enviromental toxins.
Acquisition
Detoxifier Lungs can be crafted at a Fabrication bench once the Toxin Filtration research project has been completed. They require 15 Plasteel, 4 Advanced components, 26,000 ticks (7.22 mins) of work, and a Crafting skill of 8.
They can also be bought from exotic traders, Empire traders, and at Outlander faction bases.
Summary
A detoxifier lung replaces an organic lung and increases Toxic Environmental Resistance by +60%. This reduces the amount of toxic buildup from toxic fallout, tox gas and pollution by 60%, as well as rot stink. Detoxifier lungs are also fully immune to asthma and lung rot, and will cure either aliment in that lung.
In addition, it has a part efficiency of 110%, which increases Breathing by +10%. This increases Moving by +2% and Rest Rate Multiplier by +3% (reducing time to sleep by that amount). [Verify]
By installing a detoxifier lung, the pawn's natural lung, if perfectly healthy, is harvested without a penalty.
Installation
Installing the part requires 2,500 ticks (41.67 secs) of work, 2x medicine of herbal quality or better, and a Medical skill of 5.
Removing the part requires 2,000 ticks (33.33 secs) of work, 1x medicine of herbal quality or better, and a Medical skill of 0.
If the operation fails, the part has a chance[What Chance?] to be destroyed.
Analysis
Detoxifier lungs are craftable, meaning they can replace a destroyed lung when there are no prisoners to harvest from, or if your colony's ideoligion prevents organ harvesting.
Compared to detoxifier kidneys:
- Detox lungs cost 2 advanced components more to create, about double the cost.
- Detox lungs give Toxic Envionmental Resistance, which does not protect against direct toxic attacks (like an apocriton's toxic needle gun).
- Detox lungs give +10% resistance than the kidney. Note that either part with a face mask gives 100% Toxic Environmental Resistance.
- Detox lungs increase movement and rest, which are more generally useful stats than Immunity Gain Speed, especially by the time you create bionic parts. (The boost is fairly small)
- Lungs will prevent asthma and lung rot, while kidneys prevent chemical damage from yayo.
