Armadillo leather
Tanned, dried, scraped armadillo skin. It's tough, but offers little protection against the elements.

Analysis[edit]
Lets compare against some common alternatives.
Compared to standard Plainleather, it has the same stats for: hit points, flammability, blunt armor, heat armor, and cold insulation. It has a ×1 increase in beauty, has a ×0.43 increase in sharp armor, has a +2 °C (3.6 °F) increase in heat insulation, and has a ×1.1 increase in market value.
Compared to growable Devilstrand, it has the same stats for hit points. It has a ×1.2 decrease in beauty, has a ×0.6 decrease in flammability, has a ×0.16 decrease in sharp armor, has a ×0.12 decrease in blunt armor, has a ×1.5 decrease in heat armor, has a +4 °C (7.2 °F) decrease in cold insulation, has a +6 °C (10.8 °F) decrease in heat insulation, and has a ×2.3 decrease in market value.
In the early years of a colony, armadillo leather can be very good. Especially for sharp armor. Long term it will be better to make protective Stuff out of devilstrand or better.
