Flak jacket
"A tough fabric jacket with armor plates sewn in. While it's not as good as solid armor, it offers effective protection against all manner of attacks while remaining quite comfortable."

The flak jacket is a piece of protective apparel. It covers the torso and arms at the cost of movement speed.
Acquisition
Flak jackets can be commonly found on Outlanders, Pirates, Imperial Troopers and Ancients. Additionally, they can be manufactured at a machining table, once flak armor has been researched. A flak jacket requires 50 Steel, 70 Cloth and 1 Component and ? seconds of work (? ticks) to be created, assuming baseline global work speed and no enhancements or hindrances to consciousness, sight, or manipulation.
Analysis
It can provide additional protection for soldiers, on top of flak vests at the cost of -0.12 c/s.
Once you get a lot of devilstrand, such as in mid-late game, it's recommended you switch to the devilstrand duster as it provides slightly more protection, insulation and coverage overall; in addition, it provides excellent protection against flame attacks, making it a superior choice.
