Gas mask
A flexible mask worn over the face with an embedded air filter. It dramatically reduces exposure to pollution through the lungs, but does not protect the skin on the rest of the body.
It prevents tox gas irritants from entering through the eyes and mouth.

The gas mask is a piece of apparel added by the Biotech DLC.
Acquisition
Gas masks can be crafted at a Machining table once the Machining research project has been completed. They require 20 Steel, 20 Chemfuel and 6,000 ticks (1.67 mins) of work.
Summary
Gas masks increase Toxic Environment Resistance by +80%, halving the severity gain from toxic fallout, rot stink, and pollution. It does not protect from diseases, which are not contagious between pawns in RimWorld, nor does it prevent toxic buildup from attacks such as the cobra's bite.
Analysis
- For many purposes, such as against rot stink, a face mask's 50% toxic resistance is sufficient. As face masks don't cover the head, simple helmets and flak helmets can be used alongside it.
