The Ladies Hat is a clothing item added in the Royalty DLC. Female Nobles between Squire and Praetor rank require either one of these, a Coronet, a Crown, power armor helmet, or a Eltex helmet, to consider themselves properly dressed and avoid a negative moodlet. The Male equivalent is the Top hat
Acquisition
As a complicated garment, Ladies Hats can only be made at tailoring benches, which requires complex clothing & Noble Apparel to be researched in order to be constructed. A Ladies hat requires 25 of any textile, and 30 units of work.
It can also be found on Imperial Nobles, for sale at traders and as a quest reward.
Analysis
Ladies Hats are a luxurious headgear that offers a significant boost to social impact (+20%) even larger than the Bowler hat's 15%, but provide no armor and little insulation and require significantly more material to craft. They do provide the most cold insulation of any headgear with a social impact bonus, but still significantly less than tuques. However, generally they are inferior to, should be exchanged for, literally any other headgear unless required by a noble or the social impact buff is required. Male pawns will receive a mood debuff while wearing this item.
